水辺のある街　〈Lovely city element I〉　A city with a waterside

素敵な街に必要な要素として、“水辺”の存在がある。なぜ水辺の存在が人々を惹きつけるのか? 真夏の太陽のもと飲む水のありがたさは計り知れない。夏に限らず人間の命や暮らしにとって水は不可欠のもの。

人間は母親の羊水の中で過ごし、成長した身体の半分以上は水で出来上がっているという。 そのためだろうか、なぜか水を見ると和み、ほっとする。川のせせらぎ、押し寄せる大波小波、落ちてくる滝の音など。 さらに水を必要とする動植物の生息空間は、豊かな自然をもたらしてくれる。

街という身近な場所に水辺があれば、癒しの空間や豊か な自然を感じさせてくれる。

One of the important elements for an attractive city is the existence of the waterside. Why does it attract people? We cannot thank enough drinking water under the full-summer sun. Other than summer, water is vital for people’s life and living.

Fetus spend time in mothers’amnion fluid and over a half of the humans body is made of water. That is perhaps why we get calm and relaxed when we see the water. The babbling of a stream, surging waves and wavelets, and the sound of falling water etc. Furthermore, the living space of animals and plants who need water provide a nature rich environment.

A city with the waterside is thus full of healing space and rich nature. On the sketches are various interactions between people and the waterside
